Clay & Wattles Theater Company Announces 2017 Season at The Gary The Olivia Theater in Bethlehem!
Clay & Wattles Theater Company plans on inspiring its audiences during the 2017 Season with a celebration of our local culture, with something completely new featuring one of the worlds most innovative and inspiring illustrators and writers of children’s stories and a brand new production of our most successful musical to date!
First up is the Farm-Art Festival, Inspired By Nature, on June 11th from 11 am to 4 pm at The Gary The Olivia Theater, 249 Flanders Road in Bethlehem, CT. Join us for this celebration of our local culture in art, food and wine featuring artists, small farms, artisan food producers, an educational presentation on cheese and wine and Q&A with internationally recognized cheese expert, Sister Noella Marcellino and Certified Sommelier, Sally Camm, Shelburne Farms of Vermont will present their World Class Cheddar cheeses, Chef Philippe Niez of the Woodstock Inn will showcase his line of artisan chocolates and entertainment will be provided by Clay & Wattles Theater Company – all inspired by nature and contributing to our area’s vibrant cultural life.
On June 24th and 25th at 2:30 pm at the theater Clay & Wattles Theater Company is pleased to present “The magical world of Tomie dePaola,” an afternoon with the celebrated children’s book author and illustrator and recipient of the prestigious Laura Ingalls Wilder Award, Caldecott Honor, and the Newbery Honor. Tomie dePaola will narrate several of his stories and will be joined on stage by former film and stage actress Mother Dolores Hart, OSB, actors and special guests to act out the drama rich tales. Purchase of Tomie’s books organized by Barnes & Noble of Waterbury and book signings will be available after the performance on both days.
The “Fiddler on the Roof” is back. With the opening night gala scheduled for Saturday, July 29th at 7:30 pm and running for 4 weeks through August 20th, Clay & Wattles Theater Company is excited to be bringing back its most successful musical to date, “Fiddler on the Roof.” Selling out during its previous staging at The Gary The Olivia Theater the 2017 production will once again feature Thomas Camm as Tevyeh the milkman in his signature role. He will be joined by a professional cast from the tri-state region and with new choreography and staging by director/choreographer Sally Camm.
