She Loves Me – From July 28th (opening night Gala with Wine & cheese at intermission) through August 12, 2018 with Friday and Saturday performances at 7:30 pm and Sunday shows at 2:30 pm. With music and lyrics by Jerry Bock and Sheldon Harnick and book by Joe Masteroff this musical theater masterpiece is guaranteed to delight! Based on a play by Hungarian playwright Miklos Laszlo and with several film incarnations (The Shop Around the Corner, The Good Old Summertime and You’ve Got Mail) the musical is set in 1930’s Budapest and centers around shop co-workers Georg and Amalia who unbeknownst to them have become pen pals by answering a Lonely Hearts Club ad in the local newspaper. Truly an ensemble piece with funny and sometimes breathtaking numbers for each character, She Loves Me finds depth, longing and beauty in the everyday lives of the clerks at Maraczek’s Parfumerie. She Loves Me was nominated for five Tony Awards in 1964. The 1993 Broadway revival won the Olivier Award for Best Musical Revival, the Drama Desk Award for Outstanding Revival of a Musical and the 1994 Critics Circle Award for Best Musical. Many consider this to be the “perfect” romantic comedy musical and a Bock & Harnick gem filled with charm, romance and a hint of mystery. General Admission – $30 (Opening night Gala all tickets $35 with wine and cheese at intermission), Senior – $25, 15 yrs & under $10. Special Group Rates are available online or call 203 273-5669 for information (groups of 10 or more only).
Outside Mullingar – From September 7th (opening night Gala with Wine & Cheese Reception at intermission) through September 16th, 2018 with Friday and Saturday showtimes at 7:30 pm and Sundays at 2:30 pm. John Patrick Shanley (Moonstruck, Doubt) pays tribute to his Irish roots with this lyrical, love story of sorts – one that could only happen in Ireland! Set in contemporary rural Ireland the story is about two farming families living side-by-side and at a generational and emotional crossroads. Tony Reilly is not sure he wants to leave his farm to son Anthony as he thinks he doesn’t “love the land.” Aoife Muldoon has no such concerns about daughter Rosemary but is worried about her future – all alone. Tony and Rosemary however have a different take on the matter. What’s at stake is not just the continuity of the land but the unspoken secrets Tony and Rosemary have held inside for years. Delicately and with humor Shanley masterfully shows the emotional “clenched fist” in these two gradually begin to open – and the ending will amaze! General Admission – $25 (opening night Gala with wine & cheese reception at intermission $30 all tickets), Senior – $20, 15 yrs & under $10. Special Group Rates also available online for groups of 10 or more only or call 203 273-5669 for more information.
